Quick Nail Gun 101

Nail guns are built to shoot nails thoroughly into woods or to any kind of material in place. According to contractors, builders and DIYers, nail guns are handier and favorably convenient instead of hammers. You can drive nails with less effort unlike working with claw hammers.
Nail guns are operated by compressors that allow you to do bigger jobs as well.

Kinds of nail gun:

Pneumatic nail guns are activated by compressor or compressed air. They are way cheaper and much lighter than power tools. That’s why it is recommended by common users. The pneumatic tool gun have two kinds.

Stick-type nail guns
Stick-type nail gun holds 20 to 40 nails at one time. The nails in the stick are joined together with thin pieces of wire, paper, or plastic.

Coil-style nail guns
The coil-style nail gun can hold 300 nails in a canister or drum. The nails are usually joined together by wire and form a long flexible strip.

Air tool nail guns
Air tools are designed for three specific jobs such as framing, finishing, and roofing.

Framing nail guns requires high powered and fast jobs like plastering boards and nailing floors.

Finishing nail guns leaves a good finish to your door frames, baseboards and other furniture. They are smaller and work for lightweight finishing nails.

Roofing nail guns are intended for nailing roof materials. They are lightweight and durable. It also works precisely for fastening and attaching shingles.

Trigger Automated

Nail guns use two different trigger mechanisms, including professional grade and two-step.

Automatic trigger (Professional-grade)
Is mainly for professional used only for it requires practice for your safety. This professional-grade nail gun fires immediately upon pulling the trigger.

Semi-Automatic trigger (Two-step nail guns)
This semi-automatic nail gun is more suitable for beginners. It only requires two-step process that is push and pull. It is simply pulling the trigger and pushing the barrel against the surface being nailed. The pushing helps releases the nail into the surface.

Nail guns differ also with their air pressures. Larger nail guns needs higher pressure. Also the nailing mechanism determines the scope of our work. Nail guns can be dangerous when safety precautions are not followed. It is only used for its modified purpose not for anything else.
