How to Start Decorating with Life Size Letters

Posting of large letters and numbers gave us a thought of a preschool ambiance but in fact, it simply makes your home look young. Nowadays, making bold statement is trending. From canvass, posters, paintings, and sculpted materials can be now seen anywhere such as coffee shops, restaurants and clothing lines. This concept is commercially used and it’s time to make one for residential use.

  1. Established first your inspiration. You can create a single word that best describes the house or what you want to rely to your visitors. Use verb and adjectives that can easily boost emotion of the reader. It can be welcome, smile, cozy, relax and any word that you think that suits your place. You can also post your favorite verse or inspirational quotes.

  2. If you already have your inspiration, it is time to choose a material you are going to use. It can be a canvass, wood, metal, cloth, or paper. Browse the internet and home living lifestyle magazine to get ideas. Black canvass is easy to work with. You can paint and trace letters you want. Wood is more interesting to work with. It’s a detailed work but the results are worth it. Puffy throw pillows in letter shapes are also interesting. Make it in different colors to make it look fun and create a single word like, SIT or CHILL,..its up to you.

  3. Choose a color of the letters you will make. Make sure that the colors could match to the mood and appearance of your home. You can choose contrasting colors and try the color blocking design. But if you’re unsure, settle for what is more appealing and acceptable to the eyes.

  4. Start your project with complete materials and set of tools. There are power tools available in the market perfectly made for do-it-yourselfers. Bosch DIY tools are one of the recommended DIY tools for project making and alike.

  5. Be excited to see good results. This will serve as a motivation in doing a project that can change the look of your home. Enjoy and enhance your skills to create more ingenious project ideas.
